The Coating Process

Another patented feature of Conservaglass Plus™ is a special coating that makes it significantly easier to clean and maintain. This extra step during the glass manufacturing process bonds an exterior coating to the outer surface of the glass, making it super smooth to reduce accumulation of dirt and dust. This hydrophilic coating makes rain water "sheet off" rather than "bead up", which carries away dirt and dust, making the care of your glass so much easier. No competitor's glass has this technology.

Four Seasons Conservaglass Plus™ is made differently than competitors' glass. Features such as bent corners, dual seal silicone and gas filling without fill holes make our Conservaglass Plus™ last about six times longer than the competitions'. How it works

Electrical energy is used to charge exotic compounds and metals which bombard the glass surface, depositing a micro-thin coating.

The challenges of creating a Conservaglass Plus™ coating for curved glass were very formidable. Glass is normally coated prior to the tempering process. This, however, was impossible for curved glass. Therefore, a special coating process was developed to permit tempering and bending of the glass after the Conservaglass Plus™ coatings were applied. To do this, a state of the art bending process was developed.

Four Seasons can provide Conservaglass Plus™ in heavy duty .090 laminated configuration designed to provide high impact protection from hurricanes as well as superior protection from vandalism or intruders. This heavy-duty glass is available for our entire structure, including the curved glass.

Permits were filed, materials ordered and before long construction started on a very unique home. This home was designed with a southwestern motif complete with stucco & stone walls both inside and out and best of all glass sunrooms on all four sides. Inside these light filled open spaces there are large openings to access the 'inner core' of the living area. There are two bedrooms on the first floor with open walls leading into sunrooms on the east side, a very large opening into the kitchen/breakfast area open to a sunroom on the west side, a larger two story sunroom on the North side which is used as a living / family room area and finally, a sunroom breezeway that connects the house to the drive through garage and completes the full sunroom "loop" around the main living space.

Ron & Barbara Miller contacting me inquiring whether would be able to construct a home for them. (we had done several projects at their current home in Bethesda prior to his call) He told me that he so much loved and enjoyed the various sunspaces we had created for them and that he spent practically every waking hour in them that he would like to build a new home duplicating much of that same feel. Ron had a basic idea what he wanted to accomplish with this project so we met to discuss his ideas.
